SDG Game

Sustainability is not a game, but still there is a lot to win.

A report and game for BNG bank to measure their impact on sustainability goals.

SDG stands for Sustainable Development Goals. They are created by the UN to combat climate change and to reduce the inequalities in the world. Each year, students can participate in the SDG challenge, in which they are connected to an organization with which they work together on the SDG’s.

Together with group of students from the Erasmus University and the Willem de Kooning Academy we were paired to the BNG Bank. The bank wanted to measure their impact, and improve it by motivating clients to work on certain SDG’s within the projects the BNG bank funds.
The game is ment to be played by BNG and their future clients during one of their initial meetings. By (literally) laying their options to contribute to a more sustainable future, the bank and the clients get an overview of the possible impact they could make with their project. The game sparks a conversation about finding smart, practical solutions to contribute to the SDG’s within their project.

After playing the game, all your options are laying on the table, and you can visualize the road you need to take to achieve certain sustainable development goals within your project.

Besides creating the game, we also worked on a rapport that shows how to measure the BNG bank’s net impact. This was created by the econometric students and business administration students that were part of our team for this challenge.

Because we presented the bank with both this report to measure impact and a way to motivate their future clients in working with the SDG’s, we gave them a well-rounded solution to their questions. In the end, our team won public favorites in this challenge.
